Types of Lights

The professional lighting design for your bathroom will definitely involve choosing the proper kind of light. The following will cover several options, along with their advantages and disadvantages.

CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lights)

Not only do CFLs have lengthy service lives that may be 15X longer than traditional incandescent light bulbs, they also help save money by consuming 75% less electricity. They also are safer by generating less heat. The drawback of a CFL bulb is that they have are more fragile and can be more vulnerable to being affected by humidity.

Incandescent

Despite their drawbacks, some people still prefer incandescent light bulbs in their bathrooms because of the familiar soft and warm lighting they provide. Users also have to become accustomed to the different quality of light versus CFL and LED light bulbs. Incandescent lighting has several disadvantages, including greater electrical consumption, higher temperatures, and they are more fragile than newer types of bulbs.

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes)

In contrast to CFL lights, LED light bulbs have greater durability. They are also not affected by humidity. Another plus is that they create less heat than a CFL. LEDs are also more energy efficient than both incandescent and CFL light bulbs.

Heat Lamps

If you live in a place where it can get cold in the winter, you may want to consider installing a heat lamp in your bathroom. They are especially useful as they can help raise a bathroom’s temperature quite rapidly.
