Electrical Apprentice Position

Are you eager to start your career in the electrical trade? Meyer Electrical offers a fantastic opportunity for motivated individuals to become an Electrical Apprentice. As an apprentice, you’ll work closely with experienced electricians, learning the skills necessary to succeed in this rewarding field.

Job Summary:

As an Electrical Apprentice at Meyer Electrical, you’ll assist our skilled electricians with installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment. You’ll be an integral part of our team, gaining hands-on experience and the knowledge needed to advance your career.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist electricians in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Learn how to properly use electrical tools and equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical skills in electrical installation and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Dependable personal transportation is a must.
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Journeyman Electrician Position

For experienced professionals, we are also seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our team. As a Journeyman Electrician at Meyer Electrical, you’ll play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, working on a wide variety of projects in both residential and commercial settings.

Job Summary:

  • Read blueprints or technical diagrams and install electrical systems accordingly.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot wiring, control systems, lighting systems, and more.
  • Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Use a variety of testing devices to diagnose electrical problems.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Adhere to state and local building regulations, including the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Direct and train apprentices and other workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical systems.

Requirements:

  • A DC Journeyman License is REQUIRED (MD and VA Licenses are a plus).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus).
  • A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and dependable transportation are required.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Previous experience in residential and commercial electrical work is a must.
